Waterfowl Hunting Season About To Start

DEC have announced season dates and updated regulations for upcoming Waterfowl Hunting. According to sources, most dates are similar to last year, but there are some changes to daily bag limits.

Hunter Safety Course

When: 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12

Where: Waterloo Rifle and Pistol Club, 1392 W. River Road, Fayette

Registration: Cornell Cooperative Extension, third floor of Main Street Shoppe Center in downtown Waterloo

Note: Course is full, but participants must stop in to Main Street Shoppe Center to pick up course materials

National Hunting & Fishing Day Celebration

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19

Where: MacDougall Sportsmen’s Club, 3800 MacDougall Road, Fayette

What: A variety of outdoor activities in conjunction with the national celebration, including Ten Point Archery offering demonstrations and shooting opportunities; Empire Tractor selling merchandise; Matt Yuhas providing fly-tying and fishing tips. Raffles and refreshments will be available.
