Here are dates of note for the month of September from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission:
Sept. 1st – Hunting season opens for cottontail, jackrabbit, dove, snipe, grouse, rail, raccoon, and opossum.
Sept. 5th – Early teal hunting season opens in the low plains zone.
Sept. 12th – Early teal hunting season opens in the high plains zone.
Sept. 15th – Fall turkey hunting season opens. Archery bull elk hunting season opens.
Sept. 19th – Muzzleloader antelope hunting season opens. Woodcock hunting season opens.
Sept. 26th – Firearm bull elk hunting season opens. Public land antlerless elk hunting season opens.
