How To Keep Your Swarovski Binoculars Clean?

For a dynamic viewing there cannot be anything better than the Swarovski binoculars. Their performance is unmatched with cutting-edge technology and the latest optical glasses. These devices allow the viewers to get distant views accurately and clearly. But how do you keep these clean? Do you breathe on the eyepieces and then rub off the dirt? If you are doing this, then you should know that such a cleaning process will ruin your glasses. It adversely affects the quality of the glasses. While dealing with branded objects, such as Swarovski binoculars make sure you follow a proper cleaning regime to keep your binos healthy and ready to use.

There are various models that are available from the Swarovski stable:

  • Swarovski SLC Binoculars
  • Swarovski EL Binoculars
  • Swarovski Pocket Binoculars
  • Swarovski EL Range 10×42

Depending on your preference, you make take a pick. But avoid using the common breathe-and-rub formula where you frost the glass first and then rub it off with a piece of cloth. Nothing could be harmful to the glasses then this method. This process can work for your car windows but not optical glasses! There is various air-borne dust that carries silica and these are even harder than the glasses. When you rub the eyepiece, you are actually rubbing these silica particles or tiny rocks on your glasses. Surprised? Well, now you know how much damage your earlier binos have borne. Swarovski binoculars are available with lens coatings. Using this process will damage that coating as well.

When you buy a branded bino it is imperative to realize that the eyepieces are sensitive and hence, they require proper care. This will ensure high performance and a longer lifespan for your optics. The correct way to clean your binoculars would be to blow the dust off first. Use compressed air to remove the airborne dust particles from the outer surface of the eyepiece. Then apply the lens cleaner. Wipe out the grease and dirt from the lenses with the help of soft lens cloth. Instead of using the shirt end, purchase a lens cloth that is made especially for cleaning the optical lenses.

But how do you start cleaning, what should be the right way? Well, begin from the center of the eyepiece and slowly move towards the rim. Be careful about the crevices of the binocular casings. Dust often remains stuck in these areas. You can use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean the crevices. Once you have removed the dirt and dust, use a wet cloth to wipe it out.

Besides these, you can also avail the of various lens cleaning pens. These are easily available in the commercial market. Such a pen works like a brush. Thus, you can brush the lens of the binoculars with its soft ends. This would not harm the glasses. So every time you are putting away the Swarovski binoculars, ensure that you have cleaned them properly.
