Evolution of Barrett Rifles

Barrett Firearms Manufacturing is a manufacturer of firearms and ammunition from America. It was more than 30 years ago that Ronnie Barrett established this company. At that point in time such an idea seemed impossible to work but today Barrett rifles have almost become the lifeline of the US Army itself. He began by introducing a shoulder-fired .50 caliber rifle. This was innovatively personified back then. However, it took time for Barrett to take its first flight! It was not until 1989 that it made an impact with its sales figures. Today you will find all kinds of rifles from this company- Barrett hunting rifles, Barrett Assault rifles, Barrett Sniper, rifles, etc.

Headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Barrett has evolved as a world leader in large-caliber rifle design and manufacturing. Our products are used by civilian sport shooters, law enforcement agencies, the United States military, and more than 73 State Department-approved countries across the world. A state-of-the-art facility helps them to get into extensive research and development. These things lead to the manufacturing of a product that is well researched and is packed with the latest technologies. Barrett’s success story began with their first M82 sale to Sweden. Thereafter the same models were purchased by the United States armed forces, and it was deployed in the Gulf War. Today the company has contracts with dozens of countries to supply sniper rifles.

But it was the success of M82A1 that urged the company to produce more types of models of .50 BMG rifles, including the M95, M99, and M99-1. These are lighter and lower-cost bolt-action rifles. These Barrett rifles were so powerful that they took a toll on the opposition. Not only was it effective but it was very difficult to counter the attack from the Barrett rifles. The Kevlar flak jacket introduced to the counter was too heavy for the uniformed men. Let alone the patrolling men, it was even heavy for soldiers at static checkpoints who could only wear it for two hours at a time.

Even to this day, the US military uses the  M82A3, as well as a new updated version, the M107. It is described as an anti-materiel rifle. While the M107 is highly effective against soft targets and is used by explosive ordnance disposal teams with special military HEIAP ammunition, its power is not required for anti-personnel use: the heavy recoil and weight are an unnecessary penalty. And the company continues to grow with its unceasing developments and innovations. In fact, Barrett rifles are one of the most revered names in the field of long rifles.
